Sequim lavender farmers once again welcome the world to see the stunning lavender farms at the annual Sequim Lavender Farm Faire, bringing together 16 years of lavender farming traditions during Sequim Lavender Weekend, July 20-22, 2012. The Faire gathers all things lavender with the world-famous Lavender Farm & Garden Tour and Lavender in the Park.
The Sequim Lavender Farm Faire is the premier lavender event in North America. These heritage farms are the classic and beautiful destination farms of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley on the Olympic Peninsula - family-owned and operated farms with over 125 years of collective lavender-growing experience. Our farmers live on the land and are full time farmers, committed to the highest quality lavender, lavender products, and events.
Our distinctive purple and gold signs and purple flags identify our member farms throughout the valley. We have 7 Farms on Tour, and you can drive to each farm or take the free shuttle bus from Lavender in the Park!
Directions: If you’re coming from the east, you’ll meet one of our farms, Sunshine Herb and Lavender Farm, on the left. Drive about 10 more miles and exit onto Washington Street. Just past Blake Sand & Gravel, turn right onto Blake Avenue. If you’re coming from the west, take the River Road exit into Sequim and turn right onto Washington Street. At the east end of Sequim, just past QFC, turn left onto Blake Avenue.

Parking for Lavender in the Park and the farm tour shuttle buses is on Blake Avenue. ($2 suggested donation/car as a fundraiser for the Sequim High School Band Boosters). From the parking lot, a short walk or a brief ride on our tractor-pulled hay ride trailers (the hit of 2011!) will take you to the park and our Farm Tour buses. Let us do the driving while you relax and immerse yourself in the essence of lavender. (No all-day parking at the farms, please.)
Heritage Lavender Farm Tour Parking Your farm tour ticket also includes free parking at the farms, with more than 2,500 parking spaces available. All of our Farms on Tour have easy access. You will be parking right on the farm, just a short stroll to the lavender fields and making it easy to load your plants and other goodies! Our helpful parking crews will be there to answer your questions and make sure your visit is relaxing. All of our farms have easy access and egress … you can come and go as you please!
Local TransportationNew this year there will be a free In City Shuttle Bus taking you to both lavender events – Lavender in the Park at Carrie Blake/Reuse Park and the Street Fair, parking lots at QFC and JC Penney, the Sequim Open Aire Market, Sunbonnet Sue Quilt show, and downtown – all part of Sequim Lavender Weekend sponsored by the City of Sequim.
Lavender in the Park at Carrie Blake Park /Reuse Demonstration Park
Lavender in the Park at Carrie Blake Park/Reuse Demonstration Park is your free family-friendly central source for all things lavender all weekend long. This beautiful park, with great lawns and lovely gardens, provides a relaxing and open area for the entire family. Spend a day at the park, picnic, and enjoy the exhibits, music, great food, and wine and beer garden. More than 100 booths feature lavender, hand-made crafts, and community organizations as well as family activities, agriculture and nature programs. Visit the Shiso Sister City Friendship Garden, the Sequim City Garden, the Northwest Raptor Center with their “ambassador” birds, a genuine hot air balloon from the Sequim Balloon Festival, and even more surprises. This is the hub for the Farm Tour Buses and the In City Shuttle Bus that connects all of the lavender events. There is no admission charge for Lavender in the Park!
Opening CeremoniesThe patriotic sounds of the 133D Army Band will bring our community together at the Opening Ceremonies of the Sequim Lavender Farm Faire, on Friday, July 20th, 11am at the James Center Amphitheater to kick off Sequim Lavender Weekend. And if that were not enough we welcome to our opening ceremonies, northwest master gardener and media personality, Ciscoe Morris. Ciscoe is an audience favorite and one of the most popular and accessible gardening experts around. Ciscoe loves lavender- oo la la! We will honor our veterans and our community with a program of patriotic and band standards—and, of course, a shower of lavender buds on everyone!
Sportswear
We have a fantastic collection of T-shirts, sportswear and caps. These are sold only at the Lavender in the Park merchandise booth. Pet-sitting
9 a.m-6 p.m. daily at Lavender in the Park. Take advantage of our unique dog-sitting services offered by Olympic Gentle Paws at Lavender in the Park. Dogs are not allowed on the farms. Do not leave your pets in the car! The pet-sitting is located near the James Center for the Performing Arts and is sponsored by Best Friend Nutrition of Sequim. Located in the southwest corner of the booth area. There is a walking entrance from Blake Avenue near the corner of the Carrie Blake park entrance.
Handicapped Accessibility
All of the Farms on Tour and Lavender in the Park are handicapped accessible, but please note there are no paved paths at any of the locations and the ground can be uneven. Each farm has handicapped parking. At Lavender in the Park the handicapped parking is now available in the park – access the handicapped parking from Rhodefer St.(see map). We apologize that the Farm Tour bus system is not handicapped accessible as the buses do not have wheelchair lifts.

The Heritage Lavender Farm Tour features seven unique and iconic lavender farms, representing the heritage and future of lavender, including two of the founding farms of the lavender movement. Each farm is visually distinctive and reflects the vision of its owners and the surrounding environment. The farmers share their techniques for cultivating, harvesting, drying and using lavender. Each farm is a festival all its own with fields of lavender, hundreds of lavender products, workshops, demonstrations, u-cut lavender, crafts, food, beverages, music, and more. Visit the farms at your own pace, relax, and take in the aroma of lavender that fills the air.

Lavender Heritage Farm Tour Tickets: SEVEN FARM FESTIVALS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE! Your advance weekend ticket to all of the farms all weekend is only $10.00 ($15 during the Faire). Admission for active duty military and their dependents is $10. Children 12 and under are free. There is plenty of free parking at all of the farms, and the Farm Tour Buses run from Lavender in the Park to the farms throughout the weekend.

The Farm Passport - As you visit each farm get your souvenir passport stamped. Visit at least three farms plus Lavender in the Park and then turn in your entry form to be entered into a drawing for great prizes including the grand prize – a hand-made quilt donated by the Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club. There are serendipities too - a variety of coupons randomly inserted into many ticket packets.
The Sequim lavender movement began in 1995 when a group of passionate farmers sought to restore the agricultural heritage of the fertile Sequim valley. Today,the Sequim Lavender Farmers Association grows and supports the production of premium quality lavender on family owned farms. These dedicated farmers are working toward a common goal of preserving and promoting lavender in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley and making Sequim the worldwide destination for lavender lovers.

Culinary Programs
The Farms on Tour share their love and knowledge of culinary lavender through a series of cooking demonstrations on Sunday. At Sunshine Herb and Lavender Farm, the cooking demonstrations run throughout the weekend. Local chefs will explain how to choose your culinary lavender, prepare it for cooking and show you how to cook a variety of lavender dishes.
Community Programs
The entire community is involved in the Faire as well as celebrating these popular events: Olympic Peninsula Wineries Tour*, Olympic Theatre Arts*, Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Show, Sequim Arts Studio Tour, Puffi n Sunset Marine Cruise,* the SkyRidge Golf Tournament,* Olympic Driftwood Sculptors Art Show, Jazz in the Alley and the Bird Walk in Railroad Bridge Park. *Separate fee for this event.
How We Use Your Money
The Sequim Lavender Farm Faire is the annual fundraising event of the Sequim Lavender Farmers Association, a Washington State nonprofit corporation. Lavender Faire funds are used to develop and produce the educational programs of the association, including the bi-annual lavender conference, children’s programs at the Lavender Faire, and educational programs for lavender farmers and the industry. The sale of Sequim Lavender Farm Faire tickets pays for the production, marketing, management, transportation and the city and county services that are necessary to provide our 20,000-plus attendees the highest quality program and services. In addition, our members give back to the community through support of more than 80 community organizations such as the Sequim Food Bank, Sequim Boys & Girls Club/Carroll C. Kendall unit, and Serenity House. We thank our community for its support and the chance to continue with our donations to many fine organizations.
